Hi. I’m Meghan. Fitness has always been apart of who I am but over the years my fitness journey has taken different twists and turns. I was a college athlete, then a working woman that only did cardio on my lunch break, then dabbled in coaching running (that I sincerely miss), got married and got pregnant and that changed EVERYTHING. I gained fat in places I had never had fat before and I gained a lot of weight (42lbs). I worried how a pregnancy would forever change my body and how would I ever lose the baby weight. I was worried that becoming a mom meant I was destined for mom jeans, a mini van, and living in sweat pants. Throughout my first pregnancy my workouts became more limiting but I chose to keep moving during my pregnancy and stay as active as I could. It was definitely hard to watch the scale go up and up but who can really prepare for the mental factor of gaining weight due to growing a baby?! The baby weight/flubber took awhile to take off but my mental strength was just taking off. By the time I got pregnant with kid #2, I was in great shape and ready to take on a fit pregnancy. I went into this last pregnancy much more educated about what I could actually do and had a fantastic pregnancy. I gained just as much weight with my second kiddo and if you know our family you know we just breed big babies (#1 was 11lbs & #2 was 9lbs). As a mom of two I feel stronger than ever. Not just physically stronger but mentally stronger. That little voice that use to tell me to give up or give in now tells me to be the example not the excuse. My kids empower me. Everyday I try to start each day with a positive outlook and to push harder to be the healthiest Mama/role model I can be to them. I love involving them in my workouts because fitness should be fun and challenging, not a chore and dreadful. We have fun together and this blog is all about creating habits that stick and benefit not only myself but my family as well! I hope you will follow along for the adventure!
