These cookies are amazing! The cream cheese def makes them a hit. I found some dairy free cream cheese and it is really good. I put it on anything I can. It’s fantastic and taste just as good as the real stuff. Not all dairy free items can taste as great and I still have yet to find a cheese that made me say wow! Oh well.
I got this recipe from fitfoodiele and as usual her recipes or ideas never disappoint. I just love all her food post and workout photos. She is a go getter and I am dying to find a reason to be in Houston sometime to take one of her classes!!
I know what you are thinking, how good could dairy free cookies be? Oh and they are made with oats as well? Pass. But try them. They are simple and if you double the recipe you can store the dough in the fridge and pull out all week to make them as needed.
Dairy Free Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies
2/3 C. + 1/2 C. Oat Flour (Take oats, blend until they turn to dust!)
1/2 C. Sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
4-10 T. Chocolate Chips (Enjoy Life is Dairy Free Brand)
6 T. Cream Cheese (Tofutti is Dairy Free Brand)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 T. Coconut Oil, Melted
Don’t preheat the oven just yet. Combine oats, sugar, baking soda, salt and chocolate chips in a bowl. Then in separate bowl mix room temp cream cheese, vanilla and melted coconut oil. Pour the wet ingredient bowl into the dry and work at it until its all moist. Refrain from adding any extra liquid and trust that it will all come together with some good mixing skills. Then make it into a big ball, wrap it up and place in the freezer for 20-30 minutes. Now preheat the oven to 325.
Grease a cookie sheet and placed small rolled balls of dough on the cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes. Then, don’t burn your fingers trying to eat one fresh out of the oven. It turns outs chocolate chips are HOT and hurt if you can’t be patient. Lesson learned. But they are THAT good!
